Tenuta Torciano brought its Tuscan wine collection to the Diamond Run Golf Club in Pittsburgh, where winemaker Pierluigi Giachi and his team poured for about 35 members of the club.

A four-course dinner built around Tuscany

The dinner is part of the ongoing Tenuta Torciano Winery events held at some of the most exclusive clubs in the United States. This time the venue was the Diamond Run Golf Club, where the chef paired Tuscan appetizer platters and a four-course dinner for a proper wine and food match.

Guests opened with a welcome aperitif on the club's Green, poured with Prosecco Millesimato Extra Dry. The courses that followed moved through Vernaccia di San Gimignano, Chianti, Chianti Classico and Brunello di Montalcino, then the estate's Tuscan blends — Baldassarre, Cavaliere, Bartolomeo and Terrestre — before closing with the Vin Beato Dessert Wine and a plate of cookies offered by the club. Every dish was seasoned with the estate's own Gourmet Products: Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Selected Balsamic Vinegar, and Truffle and Hot Pepper Oils.

Through the meal, Pierluigi walked guests through tasting technique, the etiquette of the glass, and the reasoning behind each pairing.

Wine Torciano Insider

350 wines, up to 93 points

The new Wine Torciano Insider, covering October through December and reserved for members, lists 350 classic and outstanding picks scoring up to 93 points — the most exciting wines discovered in the estate's tasting room over recent weeks. Alongside sparklers and reds, it features new vintages of Bartolomeo, Brunello di Montalcino, Chianti and Vernaccia di San Gimignano.

A course built to challenge every golfer

Diamond Run Golf Club sits in the green landscape of Sewickley, Pennsylvania. PGA legend and course designer Gary Player rates it highly for its views, rolling fairways and ability to test both amateur and seasoned players. Five sets of tees vary the distance and angle to the green, and many are elevated above the fairway to give players confidence — though moved back to the black championship markers, with the rough grown out, the course still poses a real challenge.
