Set in the medieval city of San Gimignano, Tenuta Torciano sits at the heart of Tuscan history and culture, surrounded by rolling hills of vineyards, olive groves and oak woods, with the famous towers of San Gimignano looking down over the river Elsa.
Our cellar and restaurant have a calm, panoramic atmosphere, perfect for a reception with a wine tasting or any of the activities we organize on the property. The newly opened Oasis Farm, right on the estate, is self-sufficient and sustainable, with a homely, lived-in feel.

Our animal family keeps growing, with new members such as chickens, ducks and even peacocks. Together with our trained staff, Tenuta Torciano lets guests walk alongside these animals in their natural habitat.
In the vineyard
Twenty geese, working the rows
The estate has recently adopted a biological model of agroforestry, leaving about 20 geese to live in the vineyards, cutting down on chemical treatments. The geese unwittingly do an important job: they feed on weeds, removing the need to cut them with machines or chemical herbicides, and use less fuel in the process. Their light step keeps the soil from compacting, so fertility isn't reduced.

Agroforestry is based on a system where green crops and animals share the same land, for a virtuous, self-sustaining agriculture.
Respecting the environment, alongside our love for the work and for quality, has led us to try a low-impact viticulture. Besides the geese, we've also brought in horses, used for riding lessons, horseback riding and pet therapy for children.

At Tenuta Torciano, humans and animals are one family: you may well be welcomed at the entrance by Camillo the duck, or greeted by Dante, our noble hunting dachshund, asking for a lot of cuddles.
