For the 50th wedding anniversary of Ed and Roe Jack — historic friends and business partners in Lionstone Int., Shermer and Dgl for over 30 years — Pierluigi and his wife Luciana flew to Chicago last week to celebrate the day together with their "American family".

The place

A celebration at the Chicago Botanic Garden

The event took place at the Chicago Botanic Garden, a truly incredible and suggestive green location surrounded by the city of Chicago. It is a 385-acre open-air living plant museum spread across nine islands in the Cook County Forest Preserves, with 27 display gardens across four natural habitats: McDonald Woods, Dixon Prairie, Skokie River Corridor, and Lakes and Shores.

Open to the public since 1972, it is now a fairytale place — not only to visit, but also for special events and celebrations. It was a truly unforgettable evening, in a wonderful location, with wonderful people and wonderful food, in a really loving atmosphere.

In their words

Pierluigi and Luciana Giachi on the evening

"They are our American family, and we are their Italian family, but the thing that mostly binds us is the love for good wine, good food, travel and enjoying life to the fullest every day. It was a real honor for me and my wife Luciana to share this unforgettable moment of their lives with Ed & Roe — a hug to the Jack family."
