Every year, on the last Monday of May, The United States celebrate the Memorial Day for remembering the people who died while serving in the country’s armed forces.

It’s a special day to celebrate, remember and honor all the men and women who serve the country.

Here are 3 things to do on Memorial Day.

1

Honor

Put flags or flowers on the graves of men and women who served in wars.  Fly the U.S. flag at half-staff until noon. Visit monuments dedicated to soldiers, sailors and marines. Participate in a National Moment of Remembrance. Take part to a parade.

Colors

Choose the colors red, blue and white of the flag to set a beautiful table and enjoy the weekend with friends and family. It’s a nice way to celebrate with those you love. You can also create special dishes with these colors, especially with the fruit for example.

Cheers

During these days of Celebration, it’s important to have the right wine to make a toast, during a barbecue, pic nic, lunch in the garden or dinner at home, you must choose the right wine to pair every dish.

To start, for aperitif, you can prepare sparkling wine sangria.

Cheese and vegetables are perfect with a white wine, fresh and light as Vernaccia di San Gimignano.

During barbecue, you may prefer a strong red wine as Chianti Classico, and for dessert what about a meditation wine, to sip at the end of the meal.
