Tomorrow, 31st of January, San Gimignano celebrates its Patron Saint whose name the city, around the year 451, he acquired the name.
The legend says that during the period of the barbarian invasions, Bishop S Geminiano, saved the city of San Gimignano from the barbarians Huns led by Attila, hiding the invaders, covering it with a thick blanket of fog.

Every year, January 31, the citizens of San Gimignano celebrate the Patron filling the historic center of stalls in the early hours of the morning throughout the day, and with the Holy Mass in the Collegiate Santa Maria Assunta Cathedral.
