Greetings, fellow wine enthusiasts! Join me on a journey through the rolling hills of Tuscany as I share the enchanting experience I had at Tenuta Torciano. From unexpected encounters to savoring exquisite vintages under the Tuscan sun, this trip truly embodied la dolce vita.
It all started with a serendipitous meeting in sunny Orlando, where Pierluigi Giachi, the President of Tenuta Torciano, was holding a tasting and sharing his passion for his wine and estate. His friendly demeanor and enthusiasm for wine led to our friendship blossoming, and soon I received an invitation to experience the magic of his family’s vineyard firsthand.
Fast forward to Tuscany, where my husband and I were warmly welcomed with an exquisite glass of their newest rosé at Tenuta Torciano. Its crisp, refreshing taste was the perfect complement to the sunny day awaiting us. Founded in 1720, this historic estate radiates timeless elegance and unparalleled beauty. The Giachi family’s 13 generations of dedication to winemaking are evident in every bottle. From the moment we arrived and stepped out of our car, greeted with this gesture of hospitality, we were enchanted by its charm and the warmth of its people.
Pierluigi and his family are the heart and soul of Tenuta Torciano, infusing every moment with their passion for wine and commitment to hospitality. Whether we were exploring the vineyards, taking cooking classes, or embarking on day trips to nearby towns, their enthusiasm was infectious.
The true highlight of our adventure was undoubtedly the wine tastings. Guided by Pierluigi’s expertise, we embarked on a sensory journey through Tenuta Torciano’s finest vintages, each sip unveiling layers of flavor and complexity. From crisp whites to robust reds, every glass told a story of tradition and terroir.
And then, the experiences! Where do I even begin? From cooking classes that transported us to culinary heaven to truffle hunts that had us digging for treasure like modern-day pirates, Tenuta Torciano offered a plethora of activities to delight the senses and spark the imagination.
During our cooking class, an incredible gentleman named Dante taught us how to make tiramisu with wine, affectionately dubbing it “wine-amasu.” We also crafted handmade pasta, rich sauce, and delectable meatballs—all perfectly paired with Tenuta Torciano’s exquisite wines as we sat down to enjoy our culinary creations.
Of course, no visit to Tenuta Torciano would be complete without seeing the iconic Chigi Tower, a symbol of the estate’s rich history. Perched atop a hill, it offered panoramic views of the vineyards below, reminding us of the centuries of winemaking tradition that have shaped this enchanting place.
As we bid farewell to Tenuta Torciano, we left with hearts full of memories and suitcases brimming with wine. Pierluigi and his family had welcomed us not just as guests but as part of their extended family, leaving an enduring mark on our hearts and a longing to return.
This winery and its family are dear to me, and they offer so many incredible excursions—from yachts and helicopter rides to weddings, tastings, horseback riding, private chefs, and their own boutique hotel. They do it all, and I work closely with them to create memorable experiences for clients.
